Beef Tacos

It’s taco time! This is our recipe for the most traditional taco - make as is or adjust with your favourite toppings! Follow our 6 easy steps for juicy seasoned Plant-Based Beef taco mince and crispy taco shells with all your old school toppings.
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 8 taco shells
- 4 large lettuce leaves, shredded
- 2 large tomatoes, diced
- 1 ½ cups grated vegan cheese (we use cheddar)
For the beef:
- 1 packet Deliciou-Plant Based Beef
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp Deliciou Taco Seasoning
- Tomato salsa
Directions:
- Combine all the beef ingredients in a large bowl and mix well to create mince.
- Heat oil in a large frypan over medium-high heat and add the onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the beef mixture to the pan and using a wooden spoon, break apart the mixture into bite sized pieces. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Add the crushed tomato to the pan and cook for a further 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Meanwhile, heat taco shells according to the packet directions.
- To serve, divide the beef mixture between the taco shells and top with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Dollop each taco with tomato salsa and enjoy!
